About Gus & Bo
An independent animation project.
Gus & Bo is a series of short, wordless films about a small dog with
big ideas and the very large dog who puts up with him. New episodes go up on
YouTube and
TikTok.
Why nobody speaks
There is no dialogue, no narration and no voiceover in any episode — only music and
ambient sound. That is deliberate. Dialogue is the one thing in a short film that cannot
cross a border, and every story here is built to be understood with the sound off, in any
country, by anyone. If a joke needs a translation, it gets rewritten until it doesn't.
How the films are made
Every episode is produced with generative AI. The characters, the sets and the
performances are synthesised shot by shot from written prompts, then edited together by
hand into a finished cut, with the music laid over the top afterwards.
Nothing here is real footage. Gus and Bo are fictional characters.
No real animals were filmed, directed or involved in making these videos, and every
episode is labelled as AI-generated on the platforms that support such a label.
The look is kept deliberately consistent: the same character descriptions are reused
word for word in every prompt, which is what keeps Gus recognisably Gus from one episode to
the next.
